Hyvä Theme
A lightweight Magento 2 storefront based on Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js, designed for high performance, accessibility and easier store development.
A slow Magento 2 frontend, or one that is expensive to develop, can limit sales and make further changes uneconomical. Moving from Luma or PWA to Hyvä Commerce combines a technology change with a redesign or visual refresh without replacing the backend, data or integrations.
Your customers gain a lighter storefront while your team keeps the Magento 2 backend and integrations it relies on. You work directly with me on the Hyvä compatibility plan, frontend development and launch.

Technology
Hyvä is a Magento 2 frontend designed for high performance. Its simpler architecture reduces the amount of code sent to the browser and makes strong Core Web Vitals easier to achieve.
A simpler architecture means less code, faster feature delivery and lower maintenance costs. This is why Hyvä has become the natural choice for new Magento 2 store builds and redesigns.
Hyvä Commerce package
Hyvä Commerce combines a fast storefront and checkout with a component library and tools for teams managing content, administration and media.
A lightweight Magento 2 storefront based on Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js, designed for high performance, accessibility and easier store development.
A library of ready-made interface components and patterns that speeds up the design of consistent pages, product cards, the basket and other storefront elements.
A fast, flexible checkout with one-page or multi-step layouts that can be adapted to the store’s payment methods, delivery options and purchase flow.
A content editor with live preview, version control and drag-and-drop tools that helps teams create and update pages without editing code.
A refreshed Magento admin interface and configurable widget dashboards that give each user the most relevant data and quick actions.
Tools for editing, resizing, compressing and automatically optimising images, helping to keep the storefront fast without manually processing every file.
Efficiency
The traditional Luma frontend relies on a large JavaScript stack and many dependencies. Even after optimisation, that complexity makes consistent performance harder to maintain, especially on mobile.
Hyvä removes much of that overhead. Before-and-after measurements on your actual store show the impact of the change, including the effects of design, extensions, hosting and content.
Maintenance cost
Hyvä uses Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js, replacing Luma's heavy tech stack with a simpler, contemporary approach. Fewer dependencies mean faster feature delivery and easier code maintenance.
A first build usually costs less than a separate PWA application, while the simpler stack shortens many development tasks compared with Luma. A bespoke visual design can typically be delivered in 120 to 160 hours of frontend work.
Hyvä services
The scope can include replacing the frontend of an existing Magento 2 store, refreshing a live theme or modernising checkout without migrating the whole platform.
A Luma or PWA frontend is replaced with a Hyvä theme while retaining the store's backend, data, integrations and proven business processes.
A live Hyvä theme can be refreshed, reorganised and updated to benefit from a newer stack and improvements to performance, accessibility and security.
The existing purchase flow is replaced with a faster Hyvä Checkout that is easier to develop and tailored to the payment methods, delivery options and integrations in use.
When to change your support setup
A frontend rebuild makes most sense when the current technology limits storefront speed, release cadence or the commercial return on further development.
Every change means working around a complex JavaScript stack, numerous dependencies and ageing templates. Maintenance costs keep rising without a comparable return for the business.
A separate frontend application, additional APIs and specialist skills make even small changes expensive. If the business does not benefit from a headless architecture, a leaner storefront often offers better value.
Slow page rendering, delayed interactions and layout shifts create a poorer shopping experience. Tuning a heavy theme does not always deliver lasting gains.
A technology change is the right time to improve navigation, product pages, checkout and brand communication. This avoids investing again in the old frontend.
Delivery process
Each stage has clear deliverables and acceptance criteria. The current store keeps trading during the project, while the risks around go-live remain controlled.
Budget and timeline
A typical Hyvä theme with bespoke UX and UI designs costs from £5,000 to £6,000 excluding VAT. This price covers development work only and does not include the cost of a Hyvä Commerce licence. Delivery usually takes one working month. A lighter visual refresh may require a smaller budget, while a complex checkout, bespoke extensions or multiple integrations will increase both cost and delivery time.
After the audit, you receive the scope, delivery timeline and fixed-price quote. It covers UX and UI design, frontend development, extension compatibility, testing and production go-live.
Delivery assurance
The Adobe Commerce Front-End Developer Expert certification validates the skills needed to deliver Magento 2 storefronts correctly and reduces the risk of choosing the wrong development partner.
The experience covers Magento 2 integrations with ERP systems including WF-Mag, Enova, Comarch XL and Symfonia, the Akeneo PIM and the BaseLinker OMS. This reduces risk in one of the most complex parts of an e-commerce project.
Discovery defines the scope, architecture and acceptance criteria in enough detail to prepare a reliable fixed-price quote. The assumptions behind the budget are clear before development begins.
Working features are shared regularly in staging from the start of the project. Your project lead can review them as they become available, keeping you in control of the delivery direction.

FAQ
The suite includes Hyvä Theme, the Hyvä UI component library, Hyvä Checkout, and tools for managing content, Magento Admin and images. Your implementation scope reflects the features used by your store and team.
No. The Magento catalogue, customer accounts, orders, configuration and admin data stay where they are; only the storefront layer is replaced. Only elements tied directly to the current frontend need to be migrated or rebuilt.
Compatibility is reviewed extension by extension before the estimate. The plan identifies a ready-made compatibility layer, the adaptation required or a suitable replacement for each module.
Yes. Development and testing take place in a separate environment. Your current store remains live until the new frontend is switched over in a controlled release.
It is worth considering when the current storefront holds back Core Web Vitals, every change is expensive, the PWA needs an oversized specialist team, or the store needs both a visual refresh and simpler technology.
Yes. Your project can include a complete UX and UI redesign or retain the brand's visual direction and refresh the most important components. The storefront audit defines the design scope.
A typical Hyvä theme with bespoke designs costs between £5,000 and £6,000 excluding VAT, and usually takes around one working month. A visual refresh may cost less, while a complex checkout, bespoke extensions and numerous integrations will increase the budget and timescale.
You receive test results for devices, browsers, the customer journey, integrations, analytics and accessibility. Before-and-after performance measurements show the effect of the change, followed by monitoring of orders and key store metrics after go-live.
